Rectangular hinged form with a raised central medallion depicting a Thepphanom celestial deity in the traditional Thai prayer (wai) posture, surrounded by scrolling foliate ornament and applied corner mounts.
Sterling silver construction over a high-gloss burl hardwood veneer interior. Original hinges operate smoothly; this model was produced without a mechanical latch, as made.

CONDITION:
Hinged lid functions smoothly, hinges are tight and original. No dents observed. Attractive aged patina throughout. Interior burl veneer is excellent with a small localized loss to a narrow veneer strip at the left interior lid edge (see photos). No odors or signs of prior contents. Overall a very well-preserved example.
While commonly referred to as cigarette or presentation boxes in period catalogues, this example is suitable as a decorative presentation, jewelry, or keepsake box.
