- This is a 1969 Gibson Byrdland (vintage).
- The Byrdland, named after guitarists Billy Byrd and Hank Garland, is a popular model favored by top musicians around the world. It's essentially a thin-body, short-scale neck version of Gibson's flagship archtop, the L-5CES.
- Based on the serial number range and round cutaway, this Byrdland is dated to 1969. With its pale color, dense weather-checked finish, colored binding, and aged parts, it's a truly impressive Byrdland. It's a must-have for vintage Gibson enthusiasts. Its sweet tone envelops the player. Of course, the sound when plugged in is excellent, but the acoustic resonance of this aged instrument is also superb.
- This model features a short 23-1/2-inch (approximately 596.9 mm) scale, a 17-inch body, and a thin body (2-1/4-inch depth) for an excellent fit and soft string tension, making it highly practical. The top is made of beautifully grained spruce, while the sides and back are made of elegantly figured maple. The neck is a five-piece laminated maple neck with a beautiful figured flame finish and walnut in between. The fingerboard is made of jet-black ebony, a rare material nowadays. The nut width is just under 43 mm, and the neck grip is round, making it easy to get used to. The weight is a comfortable 3.05 kg. It features two stickered numbered pickups, which output a warm, mellow, and rich sound. Its luxurious looks are also excellent, with a body top and back typical of a high-end model, multi-binding on the headstock, fingerboard binding, beautiful block fingerboard inlays, a flowerpot inlay on the headstock, a BYRDLAND-inscribed tailpiece, gold tuners, and bound F-holes. The unique resonance of the aged short scale is truly exceptional, and we hope you will experience this wonderful sound for yourself. The hard case shown is included. (Pickguard not included.)
