For bid is a very large First People’s North Vancouver, British Columbia CARVING by TYRONE JOSEPH (born 1951). Appears to be carved red cedar by the beloved Squamish Nation artist of Northern Vancouver, Canada. Depicts some kind of bird deity head with a very LONG BEAK! Probably some kind of seagull or similar bird. Back is signed by Tyrone Joseph with his address (in ballpoint pen ink).
Measures just over 34 inches wide (about 34.5 inches longest measurement-lower beak).
A wonderful, carved piece of wood!
A few minor dings and scratches. No major condition issues, but there is a nail in the wood and an eyelet screwed into the side of it…
