Large Egyptian Copper Plate Art, Three Female Musicians,
Signed, UAR Era

A striking large copper plate featuring three female
musicians in traditional Egyptian attire, rendered in exposed copper and silver
inlay against a matte black background. The figures are shown playing harp,
lute, and flute, with detailed headdresses and jewelry typical of mid‑20th‑century
Egyptian decorative arts.

The art is signed in Arabic script on the front with a date
corresponding to 1972 (Hijri 1391), consistent with the artist’s workshop
period in Egypt. The date corresponds to the early 1970s when my father
acquired this piece during his diplomatic service in the region. The back is
stamped “Made in UAR,” indicating production during or shortly after the
United Arab Republic period.

This is a substantial, display‑ready piece measuring 20
inches in diameter
and weighing 7.8 lbs, with excellent visual
presence and craftsmanship. The silver inlay and copper engraving remain crisp,
and the matte black surface provides strong contrast.
