What hair types do these work for?
Our Taper King guards don't discriminate and work on all hair types. If you're having issues achieving the desired results, try cutting from a slightly different angle, taking shorter passes with the clippers or begin from the front of the head instead of the back.
Are both the left and right side included in each order?
Yes!
Each order placed contains 2 guards. One marked "R" and the other marked "L" on the back so you can be sure to get the best results possible.
Should I be worried if the Taper King guard has a different tine lengths than that of the OEM guard?
No, there's nothing to worry about! The tine length does not affect the length at which the hair will be cut.
The amount of hair that will be cut is dictated by the depth of the tine as illustrated above.
The above guard cuts hair at a #7 length on the left side and a #2 length on the right side, with the hair between cut at a proportional gradient for a consistent taper.
I used your guards and they caused lines of uncut hair, what do I do now?
If this happened to you, don't worry- the fix is simple and easy!
This issue is caused by moving the clippers across the head in a strictly horizontal method instead of in a more diagonal direction as recommended. The visibility and severity of these lines depend on other factors such as the hair thickness, color and direction of the hair growth.
In order to remedy this issue, cut with the clippers at a diagonal angle, making multiple passes as you work from the back of your head to the front of your head.
Go ahead and take as many passes as required to remove the lines, taking your time doing this.
