Description

Takashi Ogisu (1901–1986) moved to France at the age of 26 and, except for several years during World War II, lived and painted in Paris until his death at the age of 84.

Although he first gained recognition for his oil paintings, Ogisu began producing lithographs in his later years. Unlike oil painting, lithography does not allow thick layers of paint, and the subject must be reduced to a limited number of colors when creating the plates. Through this process, Ogisu refined his style to its purest form.

His lithographs are known for their rich and subtle colors and have continued to captivate viewers.

This catalog contains 114 lithograph works, both in color and monochrome. It is filled with scenes of Paris that Ogisu loved, including long sloping streets and vividly colored shop facades.
