For something special, I am selling an unusual souvenir released by Japan Rail in March 1985 that commemorated the 25th Anniversary of the 1960 start of construction on the Tohoku & Joetsu Shinkansen lines.
Based on information from my Japanese sources, this comprises of a slither of 60kg/m rail from track originally laid at Ueno Station in 1960. It is fitted with a brass plate with the official JR identification number of '2295', and comes with its original presentation box, cardboard stand and basic paperwork.
The age and cardboard construction of the presentation box has resulted in it being marked and discoloured, but is essentially intact and even has the original JR security tape seal attached at the top of the box.
The rail slither itself also has minor specks of rust as expected for its age.
Postage will be $15.00, and the item will be sent in a padded parcel post bag with tracking number supplied. Combined postage is available, as well as local pickup from West Brunswick Victoria.
The item is otherwise sold 'as is' and returns are not accepted.
