(1893-1944) Albert Emil Johannes Hermann Graf von der Goltz was a German Oberst der Reserve (Colonel of the Reserves) during World War II and recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross and its higher grade Oak Leaves were awarded to recognize extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership.
