- Barograph / Recording Instrument Pen
- I make pens that replicate the style used by the United Kingdom Meteorological Office.
- This is a traditional wet ink pen and requires special slow-drying ink — do not use fountain pen ink. (I can supply this ink.)
- Each pen comes with two fixing lugs, designed to fit most barograph and other recording instrument pen arms. The pen arm width for this pen is 3mm.......... however if your arm width is greater than this let me know the width and I will make a pen fit.
- Every pen I supply is:
- • Individually tested
- • Supplied with a sample trace
- • Includes an instruction leaflet explaining how to adjust the pen
- Modern instruments often use felt tip pens, which are useful but tend to dampen the instrument’s response. My traditional pen is small and light, allowing for a more accurate reaction to changes in recording.
- (I can also supply felt tip pens if preferred.)
- Pens are available in two lengths:
- • Short: for most single-pen instruments...
I will supply this pen unless you tell me that you would prefer a long pen- • Long: for dual-recording instruments, where one pen overlaps the other
- I also supply:
- • All colours of recording ink
- • All types of instrument recording charts
- And carry out repairs to antique meteorological instrumentation…. And of course, Barographs
