Hello - I picked this up at my local auction house - it was in a box
with other items and I didn't even glance at it until I got home.

It is a LARGE SIZED brush (9.25 inches by 4 inches wide).
It is made of horsehair with a length of 1 and 3/8ths.
The wood is about 3/4th of an inch thick.

But - the most unique (unusual) thing about it is how the bristles
are held in place. If you look at the first photo - you will see
wire going in a geometric pattern to each of the holes that contains the
bristles. I have never seen anything like this - and my "horse loving" friends
were also quite amazed. Of course - this is handmade and would date to
at least 100 years in age.

There are 2 places where the wood base has been chipped away.
I am showing the worst one in the last photo.

Most unique item.

I am going with a 7 day auction on this - Sunday evening to Sunday evening.
