An interesting French Cubist lithograph from early Modernist painter and printmaker, André Lhote (1885-1962). The work is titled "Le Journal" and it is a fair sized piece, the image is 15 3/8 x 8 3/4 inches and the sheet measures 21 x 15 3/4 inches. It is printed on cream colored wove BFK Rives paper and is hand signed and numbered in pencil by the artist. There is some paper tape residue on reverse edges and a small tear well away from image in right margin, otherwise it is in excellent condition.
The same print is in the permanent collection of the Musée d’Art Moderne, Paris, their impression was acquired in 1957, so the print predates that year: (see last image in gallery)
