Vintage ABCO Lamb Cookie Jar – American Bisque Pottery, c. 1940s

White Glaze Figural Farmhouse Kitchen Decor

This charming mid-century cookie jar features a sweet lamb design produced by ABCO (American Bisque Company) during the 1940s. Known for their whimsical figural ceramics, American Bisque created pieces that balanced playful form with quality craftsmanship, making them enduring favorites among collectors of vintage kitchenware.

Standing approximately 11 inches tall, this ceramic jar displays softly sculpted facial details, a creamy white glaze, and classic mid-century character. A wonderful addition to farmhouse or cottage-style kitchens, it functions beautifully as both a practical container and a nostalgic decorative accent.

Condition

Very good vintage condition overall.

There are no chips along the visible lower rim as is frequently seen with cookie jars of this age. The edge on the underside of the lid does show a few rough spots from age-related wear, visible in the photos. There is also light, age-appropriate crazing to the glaze throughout— typical for these jars after decades of time and use. No structural cracks or repairs observed. Please see photos.

A warm and increasingly hard-to-find example from the golden age of American kitchen pottery!
