At the end of the Spring and Autumn period and the beginning of the Warring States period, glass eyeballs were mostly irregularly shaped spheres, with some resembling rectangular or flattened drum shapes. It is named after the concentric circular patterns on its surface, which resemble the compound eyes of a dragonfly. The 173 pieces of sodium-calcium glass "dragonfly eyes" unearthed from the Chu Hui Yi tomb in Hubei Province have been tested and found to have the same composition as those from ancient Egypt and the Mediterranean region. This confirms that they were introduced via the Xinjiang - Hexi Corridor route.
