It has a map on the reverse of Vancouver Island and Switzerland and comparative areas of similar size , and is a superb account of Canadian History .
It is very well illustrated with black and white illustrations and measures 10 inches x 8 inches .
There are 32 pages and they all contain photographs and illustrations , there are some fabulous landscapes scenes . These include Provincial Parliament Buildings , Government house , the official residence of Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia , The Gorge , Harbour Entrance , C.P.R. Flyer S.S. Princess Victoria Steamship , Olympic Mountain , Churchill panoramic view , native people , Metropolitan Methodist Church , St Andrews Cathedral, Christ Church , Royal Provincial Jubilee Hospital , Empress Hotel , panorama from Dominion Custom House , panorama from mount Tommie , Carnegie Library , The Dominion in Government Dry dock , Beacon Hill Park Lake , Government Street - with Tram , Indian Canoe Race in Harbour , Cowichan Lake , The Pacific Whaling Company Steam Ship Orion - whaling off Vancouver Island . There is an advert in the back for Berkhampstead Nurseries , Somenos , Vancouver Island . The back cover states the map was designed , engraved and printed by Tom Jones , publisher of scenic Souvenirs Cincinnati Ohio .
The book has some wear and creasing to the corners . There is an inscription inside that says Merry Christmas William . The staples have become oxidised so the pages are becoming loose but are present . There is a small tear to the bottom right of the back cover ( this does not affect the map ) .
