Surface Preparation (All Options)

  1. Clean area thoroughly; remove wax, grease and contaminants.
  2. Sand defects smooth; feather edges. Repair with filler if required.
  3. Prime bare metal/plastic with a suitable primer and allow to dry.
  4. Degrease again and tack off dust before colour.

Application Guides

Direct Gloss

  1. Shake vigorously for 2 minutes after the ball rattles.
  2. Apply light, even coats at 15–25 cm. Allow 10–15 minutes between coats.
  3. Build to full hiding and gloss. No clear coat needed.
  4. Drying guide: touch dry ~2 hours, handle ~8 hours, fully cured ~24 hours.
  5. After full cure, you may lightly flat and polish if required.

Basecoat (requires clear lacquer)

  1. Shake 2 minutes after rattle.
  2. Apply 2–3 light coats, allowing ~15 minutes flash-off between coats.
  3. Allow colour to dry for around 2 hours before applying clear lacquer.
  4. Finish with compatible automotive clear lacquer for gloss and durability.

Cellulose (Traditional)

  1. Apply multiple thin coats with generous flash times to avoid solvent trap.
  2. Work in warm, dry, low-humidity conditions. Avoid cold or damp weather.
  3. Allow to harden thoroughly. Wet sand and polish to achieve a period-correct high gloss.
  4. Clear coat is optional for added depth; ensure compatibility if used.
