100 Flowers – Drawing Fire (1984, Happy Squid Records, HS012) – Original 12” Mini-Album

Original 1984 US pressing from Happy Squid Records, the short-lived but cult-loved label that documented the Los Angeles underground scene in the early 1980s.

100 Flowers, formed from the ashes of The Urinals, continued to push the boundaries of LA’s post-punk sound — angular, minimalist, and brimming with offbeat intelligence. Drawing Fire captures the trio at their most refined and experimental, blending jagged rhythms, wiry guitars, and dry wit into something distinctly West Coast.

Packaged in a hand-assembled brown chipboard sleeve with gray block-print typography — an iconic artifact of DIY LA design. This copy is a first pressing (HS012), featuring tracks like “Long Arm of the Social Sciences”, “Triage”, and “Drawing Fire.”

An essential record for fans of early American post-punk — from the same scene that birthed bands like Savage Republic, The Minutemen, and The Urinals.
