"Gold Fever!"-"The first major gold rush was in Auraria, Georgia, not in California. Fever-nowhere is the connotation of that word so well understood the world over than when connected with GOLD. Nowhere is our planet immune and nowhere can you find a finer aggregate of the fever skillfully used as a backdrop in a tale that dovetails real history. Gold and The Trail of Tears are historical reminders in which our nation cannot find pride. The Eye of the Eagle is a story of the first major gold rush and some of the resulting tragedy suffered by the Cherokee Indians because of the white man's greed. The story can have as much to do with learning as it does with adventure, and is fun reading for almost any age about a time when life may have been simpler, but certainly not easier. Mix a pound of gold, a cup of Indians, a pinch of good guys, a pinch of bad guys, miles of wilderness, a spoonful of military, a half-pint town, love and devotion, and you'll find circumstances embroiled in flavors you just can't find anywhere else."
