The folky-pop debut album from a legendary progressive rock band!

Genesis began as five students attending Charter House School in Godalming, Surrey, England.
Mike Rutherford and Anthony Phillips (guitar) were in the same band, while Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks, and Chris Stewart (drums) were also in another band (Garden Wall).
At the end of 1966, the two bands decided to merge and form a new band.
They successfully delivered a demo tape they had recorded to singer-songwriter and producer Jonathan King.
King invited them to hold a demo session at Regent Studios, which led to a formal contract with Decca Records.
This album, created at King's suggestion with the Bible (from "Genesis" to "Revelation") as its concept, is an intriguing and unexpectedly fascinating look at the changes that big bands go through, such as King Crimson releasing "The Cheerful Insanity Of Giles Giles & Fripp" the year before their debut, and the Moody Blues' transformation from a beat band with "Days of Future Passed."

Bonus tracks include additional singles not included on the album.
