This phone requires an active cricket sim to work properly. It will NOT work on WiFi only, as Motorola and cricket set these phones up in a way to prevent that, and an app will pop up saying that an ACTIVE cricket sim is required to use the phone.

You will not be able to exit out of it and use it on Wi-Fi Only. This is a known issue and quite unfortunate, but this is the direction they have gone. Website says that it can be unlocked and the cricket app can be removed after 6 months on an ACTIVE line, but it is not guaranteed.
