WWI Very scarce Eagle and Anchor with 13 Star Snap, U.S.M.C Canteen M1910 Cover with distinctive high mounted wire belt hanger. Does not have the "U.S." Stencil on the front witch is another characteristic of Marine covers. This 1st Pattern cover is lined which is not present on the later covers. Two small repairs with stains. Includes 1918 dated canteen, no cup. Good serviceable set with perfect snaps. Evidence of makers stamp on the interior of flap that is illegible from service use. This cover would be the centerpiece of any WWI "782 Gear," pictured on page 100 upper left of Jim Moran's "U.S. Marine Uniforms, 1912-1940." ~ This item will be superbly packaged to ensure a safe delivery. ~ All questions are welcome. ~ Thanks!
