- This rock-solid biological microscope has surprisingly many options:
- A sturdy stand, with coarse and fine tuning.
- Two eyepieces.
- Small parts in a plastic box, tweezers, a bottle of Immersion oil Type A (7.4cc's) . (They look to be original to the microscope). *(We did not open the oil). Immersion oil: Used with immersion objectives to enhance resolution by reducing light refraction.
- It also has a bottle labeled Methylene blue. *(We did not open it).
- The round mirror can tilt in any direction and catch a ray of light and focus it through the aperture.
- Small scratch on glass mirror (as mentioned) and photographed.
- Each of the adjustment knobs have been tested and seem to operate as they were intended.
- The stage has two large clips which you can use to securely hold the slide in place so that it doesn’t accidentally move.
- The screws on top of the clips can tighten or loosen, changing the strength of the clips. It has knobs attached to it that can move the lenses up and down. The arm is a strong thick bar of metal, vaguely C-shaped.
- The base of a microscope is often made of solid metal and is very heavy.
- It comes with a solid Ply board Box.
- We are not microscope experts and have never used one. If you have non-technical questions we will make our best effort to answer your questions.
- Nodal Modulator (NOMO): This refers to a force-bearing transmembrane protein required for muscle differentiation and to sustain endoplasmic reticulum morphology. Research on NOMO is primarily in the field of cell biology and biochemistry, investigating its role in cell structure and function.
- LOMO Biolam Microscope: This is a type of biological microscope used in various disciplines.
- Specific applications include: studying stained and unstained transparent preparations (smears, histological sections) and opaque objects, for example in metallography and microelectronics. It can be used for observations in brightfield, darkfield, phase contrast, polarized beams, and reflected light.
- In summary, Nomo (referring to the protein) is used in cell biology and biochemistry research, while Biolam (referring to the microscope) is used in various biological and materials science applications for microscopic observation.
