A Rare Piece of Finnish Design History

This exceptional 8-inch bowl represents a significant milestone in Scandinavian ceramics - the Arabia Arctica Sini pattern, designed by acclaimed Finnish designer Inkeri Leivo in 1979. This piece holds special historical importance as part of Arabia's first vitro porcelain series, revolutionary for being oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe at a time when such durability was groundbreaking.

Why This Piece is Special:

• Pattern #403 "Sini" - Features the iconic blue fox motif with leaves and dots, highlighted by elegant linear elements that exemplify mid-century Scandinavian design philosophy
• Designer Pedigree - Created by Inkeri Leivo, whose Arctica model became "one of Arabia Finland's most bought series" and remains highly sought after by collectors
• Historical Significance - From Arabia's golden era (1970s-80s production based on markings), when the company was pioneering new ceramic technologies and design approaches
• Authentic Provenance - Bears the classic trilingual "SUOMI FINLANDIA MADE IN FINLAND" backstamp with pattern number, confirming this as genuine first-quality Arabia production
• Exceptional Condition - No chips, cracks, or significant wear - a testament to the superior vitro porcelain construction that made this series famous
• Collector Appeal - The Arctica series represents the perfect marriage of functionality and beauty that defined Finnish design during its most influential period

The soft, rounded edges were specifically designed to "feel lovely to the touch," embodying the Finnish design principle that beautiful objects should enhance daily life. The blue fox design connects to Finland's rich folklore tradition while maintaining the clean, modern aesthetic that made Scandinavian design internationally celebrated.

Perfect for collectors of:

• Mid-century Scandinavian design
• Arabia Finland ceramics
• Finnish folklore and cultural pieces
• Functional art and designer tableware

This bowl isn't just a serving piece - it's a tangible piece of design history from one of Finland's most important ceramic manufacturers, representing an era when Nordic design was reshaping how the world thought about everyday objects.
