This wire rope wear and replacement tool is specifically designed for small diameter ropes. 

* Purpose:

This tool is used to check the wear and tear of wire ropes, particularly elevator suspension ropes, to determine if their diameter has fallen below a safe limit. 

* Functionality:

It features grooves representing different nominal rope diameters (in inches and millimeters). If a rope fits into a groove, it indicates that the rope has worn down and should be retired (replaced) for safety reasons. 

* Material:

The tool is made from durable, lightweight anodized aluminum. 

* Application:

It's a precision gauge used by lift technicians to quickly and reliably assess rope wear on-site, ensuring safety compliance in elevators and other applications using wire ropes. 

The tool is 2-3/4” in diameter and 3/4” thick.
