Winterizing
Winterizing is not just for December, January, and February, it can be cold enough in some places the rest of the year to cause the water to freeze in the hose and crack internal parts. Turn off and drain water from the unit when the temperature dips, even if you don’t do a full winterization.
Tighten it up
Rough roads can shake connections loose. Checking on the tightness of connections periodically, will prevent water leaks and damage.
Cleaning
Cleaning around the connection points and inside the inner box to be sure there is no buildup of dirt or debris, will not only alert you to potential issues it will also keep the unit looking good and ready to use.
Replace
Sometimes you just need to replace worn or degraded parts to prevent extensive damage. Always check for recyclable parts and dispose of other parts properly to protect our recreational areas for future campers.
