You are buying a 5-pack of new Maxell MA112 5.25" 650MB magneto-optical (MO) removable disk cartridges.

IMHO magnetic-optical (MO) disks are one of the best archival storage media ever developed.  Some types of MO disks (WORM) can only be written once and are meant to be used for long-term storage of data that must be guaranteed never to have been altered.  But re-writable types like this one can be used again and again to store large quantities of data for a very long time.

This listing is for five new re-writable 5.25" 650MB MO disk cartridges made in Japan by Maxell.  This capacity is a good choice for long-term backup of data and programs from vintage Macs and PC's because the cartridges are less expensive than higher capacity disks and the recording technology is more conservative, hence even more suitable for archives.

Note that although 650MB MO disks can be read by almost all 5.25" MO drives, they cannot be written by the most recent drives such as Sony's RMO-S561 9.1 GB drive.  Please confirm that your drive is fully compatible with 650MB MO disks.

Please see my other listings for other hard-to-find vintage drives and media.

I have been collecting and restoring vintage computers for a long time.  Please see my other auctions for vintage Macs and Mac parts, plus occasional other vintage computing items.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

I don't have a lot of silly rules for buyers: Pay for your item and I'll send it you. I've been a buyer and a seller on eBay for more than 25 years and have a near perfect feedback record. I'll trust you and you can trust me to do right.

Please use the eBay shipping calculator to estimate your shipping cost inside the US.

Why don't I offer free shipping?  There's no such thing as "free" shipping.  Sellers have to recover the cost of shipping.  When "free" shipping is offered the seller has buried the average cost of shipping the item in the price.  This means that buyers who are far away and would have to pay more for shipping get a discount while buyers who are close to the seller and would pay less are overcharged.  This is especially true for large or heavy items.  I don't think this is fair, so I don't offer free shipping.
