3.5x5 B&W glossy photograph signed in blue ink by Gerhard Witte. In excellent condition. 
Gerhard Witte was an officer in the German Army (Heer) during World War II. He held the rank of Hauptmann (Captain) and served as commander of the 3rd Battalion of Grenadier-Regiment 220, part of the 58. Infanterie-Division. Witte was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross on March 28, 1945, for exemplary leadership and combat performance during the Courland Pocket battles in Latvia, where German forces were encircled but continued prolonged resistance against Soviet offensives in the war’s final months.
