Beautiful hand woven item which would make a fabulous wall piece or simply draped over the back of a sofa, chair or bannister rail.

Skillfully hand woven using soumak weave (wefts wrapped around warps), weft float for the decorative parts on the front, plain weave on the back. It has a few small holes on the back, obviously not visible from the front. All of the bag enclosures are in tact.

Purchased many years ago from the late Duncan Skeels, Bridport Antique Rugs. It probably dates to the first half 1900s and was woven in Anatolia, what is probably now part of Turkey. 134 long, 46cm wide, all wool.

Having recently downsized I don’t have room to display all the fabrics I have accumulated. I am a collector, not a dealer.

Listed elsewhere so may be withdrawn at any time.

I am selling other woven fabrics so please check out my other listings.
