This vase has it all! A gorgeous red color that changes shade with the light from rich ruby to paler ruby like cabochon cut. It has, very well-arranged bubbles, flattened between the two layers; each bubble, rimmed with and then covered with gold. The layers are slightly pearlescent lattimo white that becomes thicker on the way down and the red layer is speckled with gold flecks. There are 3 wave-tyle cristallo rings around the mouth, the shoulders and the base. They all speckled with gold. There are 16 ribs, quite subtle, giving more dimension to the classic mid-century design body. Has a tight snap-cut pontil mark right in the middle of the bottom, where all the ribs end. Bubbles are big BB size arrayed in concentric circles. Appears as if Barovier uses the thickness of the lattimo layer to effect to shade of the reds. Probably c1950 or older. In flawless condition; very rare with all the cristallo rigaree* details so easy to ding.
The last photo has a direct light on itThe vase stands 12 inches tall and is in superb alignment and balance; graceful and elegant with lots of special effects! A jewel!

*Pino Signoretto liked this fancy rigaree and may have collaborated on this piece. We've seen similar vases signed by him with this type of application. (he worked with Barovier, Toso(s) and the Seguso Studio(s) Not signed and if it had a label, no one kept it. Many of our pieces suffered that fate, especially if they were on the sides of the vase.                                           Sale!
