This is an exceptional PAIR of CHINESE EXPORT FAMILLE ROSE PORCELAIN MANDARIN SCALLOPED SERVING DISHES, 9 in. Wide, circa 1840.
Each one of the PAIR of MANDARIN SCALLOPED SERVING DISHES:
- is decorated is glazed and decorated with beautiful
colorful unctuously applied enamels over a glazed white background;
- has modeling, decorating, and
glaze that are exceptionally well done with typical colors
of antique Chinese Mandarin Porcelain: creamy white background decorated
with varying shades of rose pink and red, green, blue, gold, green,
orange, black, yellow, brown and gold;
- has wide surrounding border decorated in the BIRDS IN
LANTERN PATTERN, which includes birds, butterflies, flowers, and plants;
- has main reserve panel in the center decorated with seven elegantly attired MANDARIN STYLE FIGURES with gold in their hair; the figures are in various pursuits amidst a garden terrace scene;
- has border edge formed
in deep scalloped relief and has a gilded rim edge;
- has underside bottom is
glazed in a creamy white glaze; and the raised rim foot is unglazed.

SERVING DISHES Chinese Export Porcelain in Famille Rose Mandarin style are very
good condition (They pass the ping test perfectly). Condition status
includes minimal normal wear and rubbing, typical crazing, minor glaze losses,
firing flaws, and fretting. Overall, this work is
sound, having no chips, cracks, or major defects, and having had no apparent
repairs or restorations. This item is sold as is, as described. Please see all
