Ukrainian Pysanky. Petrykivka Pysanka Chicken Easter Egg
Petrykivka style is well known far beyond the borders of Ukraine. It takes its
roots form Dnipropetrovsk area in Ukraine. The ornaments on this pysanky are
just the same as they were in old times when people used to decorate walls and
ovens with petrykivka paintings. It is traditional to make compositions with
animals and flowers using very bright colors.
These beautiful paintings are done by hand on hand blown chicken egg and
covered with several layers of UV protection.
