This listing is part of a recently acquired small collection of vintage photo negatives from Humboldt County, Nevada — a once-thriving mining town turned ghost town. These are the first of many I plan to list, with future batches featuring other historic Nevada mining towns.
Some negatives in the collection were uncategorized or found loose, without town names or labels. When possible, I list the town name based on the envelope they were originally stored in, but I can’t guarantee every label is 100% accurate. For unlabeled negatives, I’ll be posting them as unidentified, though many are likely from the same region or nearby Nevada mining towns. I’ll be relying on collectors and enthusiasts who might recognize these locations over time.
All the negatives in this batch appear to be originals, not reprints or photos of photos. I believe a few items in the larger collection may have originated from cabinet cards or old prints, but these specific listings showcase what I believe to be genuine, direct negatives.
I’ve included a positive image preview for easy viewing, and a ruler is shown in each photo to give you an accurate idea of the negative’s physical size. Please view all photos for details.
The exact dates of these negatives are uncertain, but they appear to be mid-20th century or earlier based on visual cues. While I’m still researching and learning more about the collection, I’m excited to share these fascinating slices of Nevada history with other collectors and enthusiasts.
Please note: These negatives are in typical vintage condition, with some light surface wear and minor scratches consistent with age and storage. They’ve been kept in envelopes for decades, so while they are still very viewable and well-preserved, they’re not in pristine or unused condition. Great care has been taken to handle and photograph them accurately.
