3 Volumes of the Geological Survey Of Illinois from 1870 to 1883
Included are:
Volume IV, published in 1870
Volume VI, published in 1875
Volume VII, published in 1883
All three volumes were written by A. H. Worthen along with others. All three contain sections on both Geology and Paleontology. All three books have some black and white illustrations. Volume VI has a couple of pull-out illustrations.
The condition of the 3 books is Acceptable. There is significant wear to the covers including staining and rubbed areas on the tops and bottoms of the spines. Volumes IV and VI have small tears and chips on the top and bottom of the spine. These two volumes also have tears along the joint between the covers and the covering of the spine. They also are missing the gold lettering which has rubbed off the spines. Volume VI has the covers almost completely separated from the pages. The corners on all 3 books are turned inward and well worn. Some are bumped. The spines are broken. However, all three books have visible thread bindings so the pages are still well attached. There is a name sticker in the front of each book, and Volume VI also has some pencil writing inside the front cover. The pages are generally in good condition. There are a few with creases or light stains. The pages have tanned with age.
