This is a vintage (circa WWII?) brass encased compass, made in Germany. It has a glass face and a switch to lock needle as desired. The switch works fine and the glass face is clean and free of any scratches or fogging. The hinge is secure and this piece opens and closes just fine and lid stays closed when not in use. This pocket compass measures 1 3/4 inches (1.75 inches) in diameter and is 1/2 inch thick. It is perfect for travels and the fob allows you to wear around neck or attach to backpack or clothing.
