This is a stunning, old glass bottle encased in silver metal.

It’s quite a primitive looking bottle, the bottom is marked PB and has a measure in mls & fl oz. I’m really not sure if it’s age, millilitres have been a measure since the 1700s but fluid ounces have only been used since 1824.

It’s 22cm tall and in very good condition, there are no hallmarks so I don’t know the silver content, it looks like it could be coin silver.

It’s original purpose is a aspergillum for holy water or rose water and is possibly Islamic or Egyptian.
