Another item from Country Artifacts, Great Northern Liquidation, Springfield, Vermont.- The seat ring is made of oak and has a slot for caning a seat as shown. It is about 14" diameter.
- The parts below the seat are predominantly cast iron with some stamped steel parts. The 4 arm seat support is cast iron, as is the screw, as well as the arched casting above the legs.
- To adjust the seat height, you pull the tab on the side to pull the pin that seats in the slot in the screw, and spin the ring at the top of the screw to spin the screw until the correct height is reached. You then reseat the tab and pin into the screw slot to lock that height setting. The seat will now swivel freely without changing the stool height. Stool height range: 18" to 22"+
- The legs below the castings are oak. A pipe spacer is above one leg as shown. The other three legs are not secured in the castings as shown.
- Condition is good overall, with wear to the finishes and other normal signs of age and previous use as shown. Initials are carved in the edge of the seat ring. Some of the original finishes can be seen on the seat ring and the Japanning on the castings below. The castings and metalwork have some oxidation as shown.
