Hand signed 4x6 inch photo by John Douglas. John Douglas was
a pioneering FBI profiler who played a significant role in developing criminal
profiling techniques. His work inspired the character of Jack Crawford in
Thomas Harris’s novel “The Silence of the Lambs,” which was later adapted into
the famous film. In the film, Crawford is portrayed by Scott Glenn. Douglas and
his colleague Robert Ressler traveled across the country interviewing serial
offenders in prison to gain insights into their thought processes, aiming to
use this information to catch active offenders. Their work, along with Dr. Ann
Burgess, who studied ways to help rape victims, led to the publication of the
Crime Classification Manual, which remains a key resource for detectives today.
