Offered for sale is a beautiful antique opalescent glass bowl made by the Jefferson Glass Co. of Follansbee, WV, U.S.A. The pattern is their #245, also called VINTAGE. It has an unusually deep shape, with a pressed pattern featuring bunches of grapes, leaves, and twisting vines (picture 4) embossed on the outer surface of the glass. The inside surface is smooth, and the bowl stands on a short circular base (picture 5). The bowl is made of green glass, extending into a band of milky opalescence at the rim. The edge has a slightly scalloped rim. The Vintage pattern was introduced in ~1908; the same year that Jefferson moved its operations from Steubenville, OH to Follansbee, WV.

This bowl measures 6 inches (15.2cm) in diameter at the rim, and stands 3 3/4 inches (9.5cm) tall to the highest point. It is shown with a U.S. quarter in the third picture, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance. This is a magnificent antique opalescent bowl for your collection!

The bowl is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, deep scratches or repairs. There is no visible discoloration in the glass. There are faint surface scratches inside the bowl, from age and use.
