The token features biblical scripts from the New Testament.

One side features a passage from the Gospel according to Luke ;  ' Jesus Saith There Is Joy In The Presence ..............'.

The other is a passage from the Gospel according to James ; '  Above All Things My Brethren .........'

These type of  Gospel token, sometimes known as 'Hard Times' tokens , were prevalent in the mid 19th Century USA .

The token (  29 mm diameter). is in a good collectable condition .All details are clear and present.

The token grade is a Very Fine (VF). .

 Fairly rare item.
