More than just a HUGE Cookbook I think of this book as more of a Coffee Table Book and a study on the 1950s.  It's jam-packed with delightful examples of Food Styling (see the photo of Vegetables on Spikes and Fruit frozen in Ice - Like whole fruit, like a WHOLE Pineapple in an ice wall.  There are delightful titles for the sections like:

MAN'S JOB:  STEAK (where the woman looks on in admiration as the man grills in a white collared dress shirt
FRENCH LESSON IN INNARDS (I mean who hasn't longed for a chapter like that?)

There is also a section about restaurants of the time that is truly fascinating, such as:

The Palace - New York
Trader Vic's - San Francisco
Antoines - New Orleans

Page after page is like stepping into a Time Machine

Don't relegate this book to the kitchen.  It belongs on the coffee table where you and your friends and family can enjoy it!

The book itself measure 10 1/2" x 14" and is little more than an inch thick
