This is a 27-disc special limited edition set from Sony that was eventually replaced by a much more orfinary 27-disc set from Sony and subsequent 22-disc set from Mill Creek (IMO the Sony sets are superior).  

Obviously, if you only want the discs then the orrdinary 27-disc set from Sony will suit you just fine.  My item is clearly for the person who loves the show like I do and is a die-hard collector interested in this particular, unusual, well-designed item that really captures the feeling of the show, whether for display as-is, or carefully opened to watch the episodes.  (I kept it for display only and acquired the ordinary 27-disc Sony box for watching).
