Product introduction
Recording commemorating the 100th anniversary of Faure's death by the Berlin Philharmonic and honorary conductor Daniel Barenboim Conductor/pianist Daniel Barenboim and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra have a perfect understanding of each other. Barenboim made his debut as a pianist with the Berlin Philharmonic 60 years ago and conducted his first concert with the Berlin Philharmonic in 1969. This work is a recording commemorating the great French composer Gabriel Faure who will celebrate 100 years since his death in 2024. This program was performed at the Berlin Philharmonic the home of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in early June 2023 and was well received. Also approximately 50 years have passed since Barenboim first recorded Franck's symphony with the Orchester de Paris. This time he is expressing a new interpretation with the Berlin Philharmonic. It has a hymn-like and monumental sound that combines the spirit of Beethoven and French elegance. The virtuosos of the Berlin Philharmonic's woodwind section Albrecht Mayer (oboe) Emmanuel Pahud (flute) and Dominique Wolenweber (cor anglais) are included in the recording. universal music
