The MitchElectronics VU Meter kit, as the name suggests, is a VU meter that shows the size of a voltage as an LED bar. These are often seen in music equipment, whereby the relative amplitude of an audio source can quickly be seen, but they can be uséd in other applications including battery chargers and generic sensor readings.
The VU Meter can be uséd in numerous applications thanks to its ability to be easily added to other projects. The most common project to use the VU meter in is anything audio related, and this would require the kit to be built with the logarithmic resistor values. For applications that involves linear signals, the VU meter can be built with the linear resistor values, and this can be uséd for sensor readings, battery charge levels, and so much more. Furthermore, the use of comparators, resistor ladders, and potentiometers makes this kit excellent for education, including GCSE and A-Level qualifications.
Note that product specifics such as output frequency depend on the tolerance of the components. The numbers provided here are an approximation only.
All parts sold by MitchElectronics are compliant with RoHS and REACH directives which ensure that they can be uséd in commercial environments as well as complying with environmental laws.
