Yarmouth Cruise Lines: A fold-out (7" by 10") flier for the ill-fated 1965-66 Bahamas cruises of the YARMOUTH and YARMOUTH CASTLE.
Inside are several color photos, including of the Dining Room, Lounge, Swimming Pool, Shuffleboard Court, and the gangway. Rates for the three and four day cruises started at just $59. "These will be the gayest, most fun-filled, most carefree days and nights of your life!" promised the company. Tragically, the YARMOUTH CASTLE's final voyage was anything but.
In November 1965, the ship caught fire at sea. Scores of elderly passengers were trapped in their cabins. The first lifeboat to reach the rescue ship contained the captain and chief officers. Eighty-seven people died in the fire, and all but two were passengers.
Excellent condition.
