EXTERIOR "OUTSIDE" WINDOW VINYL
Exterior installation is recommended for most standard windows, especially tinted windows.
Exterior window vinyl is applied to the outside surface of the glass, with the printed image facing outward toward customers and people passing by.
If your windows are tinted, we strongly recommend choosing the EXTERIOR "OUTSIDE" installation or our perforated see-through mesh window vinyl. Applying translucent vinyl to the inside of tinted glass can make the printed colors appear darker or different than expected and can further reduce visibility.
IMPORTANT: YOU CANNOT SEE THROUGH THE COLORED INK
The colored or printed areas of solid or translucent vinyl are not see-through. They are designed to display the artwork, graphics, text, or images.
Our translucent vinyl allows light to pass through, but it does not allow you to see detailed shapes, objects, or scenery through the printed areas.
If you need a window graphic that allows visibility through the glass while displaying an image, please choose our perforated see-through mesh window vinyl instead.
EXTERIOR SUNLIGHT AND WEATHER EXPOSURE
Exterior vinyl is installed directly on the outside of the glass, so it is exposed to sunlight and outdoor conditions.
Because of this, the printed image may gradually fade over time, depending on the amount of direct sunlight and UV exposure the window receives.
The actual lifespan can vary depending on:
A building's eave or overhang can block a significant amount of direct sunlight, which may help extend the life of the printed graphic.
Our graphics are printed using HP Latex ink technology, which produces high-quality and durable prints. However, outdoor exposure will naturally affect printed materials over time, and no exterior print should be expected to remain completely unchanged indefinitely when exposed to sunlight.
INTERIOR "INSIDE" WINDOW VINYL
Interior installation is applied to the inside surface of the glass, with the printed image designed to be viewed from outside.
This option is especially useful if your shopping center, landlord, property management, or local regulations do not allow graphics to be installed on the outside of the windows.
Interior installation is intended for non-tinted windows only.
IMPORTANT: INTERIOR VINYL IS TRANSLUCENT - NOT SEE-THROUGH
You cannot see through the colored or printed ink areas.
The translucent vinyl allows light to pass through, but it does not provide a clear view through the printed portion of the graphic. You may see light coming through the vinyl, but you will not be able to see detailed objects, shapes, or scenery through the colored areas.
If visibility through the window is important, we recommend choosing perforated see-through mesh window vinyl instead.
ADVANTAGE OF INTERIOR INSTALLATION
Because the printed graphic is installed behind the glass, the glass helps protect the print from direct weather exposure and reduces its exposure to outside UV rays.
This can help the print maintain its appearance for many years compared with a graphic installed directly on the exterior of the glass.
Actual longevity will vary depending on the type of glass, amount of sunlight, and other environmental conditions.
For the best appearance, interior vinyl should be installed on clean, non-tinted glass.
NEED TO SEE THROUGH THE WINDOW?
If your main goal is to display a colorful image while still allowing people inside to see through the glass, we recommend our perforated see-through mesh window vinyl.
Perforated mesh contains small openings throughout the material. These openings allow visibility through the window while the printed side displays the graphic to people outside.
This is the better option when seeing through the window is important.
Please understand that perforated mesh will not have the same solid, fully saturated appearance as solid or translucent vinyl because part of the material consists of openings.
