FOIL CARD INFORMATION - With the Release of URZA’S LEGACY in 1999 Wizards Of The Coast introduced Foil Cards to MTG players and collectors alike through Booster Packs.

The Foil cards appeared one every few packs (taking the place of another card) with RARE FOILS appearing one per booster box.

FOIL CARD dispersion estimate per Wizards of the Coast:

Common Foils - 1 per every 30 - 45 MTG cards

Uncommon Foils - 1 per every 120 - 160 MTG cards

Rare Foils - 1 per every 450 - 600 MTG cards

Due to the nature of FOIL CARD production with a Metallic coating applied over card stock FOIL CARDS are notoriously difficult to find in HIGH GRADE CONDITION and even tougher to survive the rigorous PROFESSIONAL GRADING service companies protocol on card grading.
