Acid etched Mayan vulture design dangle earrings. My late friend Robert Irving & I made these in the 1990's. Earrings are domed brass and highly reflective. Apologies for my inability to take photos without reflections from the lens.

Features:
* Hypoallergenic stainless steel French hooks
*Measures 1 3/16" in diameter (30mm)
* Lightweight 6.6 grams

For anyone that is interested here are the basics of how they were made:
1) I Took a picture of different designs that I could fit into about a 1-foot square area
2) Made a physical negative of that picture
3) Transferred the negative onto a silk screen
4) silk screened "resist" onto the parts of the sheet of metal that I wanted to protect from the etching process
5) Put the sheet of metal into my homemade acid etching machine
6) Once the etching process was finished, the resist was removed from the metal and the designs were then cut out with a pair of metal shears.
7) Ground down the sharp edges with a grinding wheel and then buffed them up with a polishing wheel.
8) Finished the piece by putting on the pin backs, ear wire, barrettes etc...
Please note that as they are hand made no two pieces are exactly identical.
Any questions please feel free to ask.
