Original c1700s Cased three-piece English sterling fruit/dessert set made up of mixed-date London pieces, each engraved with a family crest (a wyvern/dragon’s head erased, winged addorsed, breathing fire, issuant from a mural coronet). The spoon bears the maker’s mark EC for Ebenezer Coker, London (registered 1739; mid-18th century), with accompanying London sterling marks (date letter rubbed). The fork and knife (silver handle) are London 1792/93 by Charles Hougham: lion passant (.925), crowned leopard’s head (London), duty head of George III, and the lower-case “r” date letter. The knife blade shows a Sheffield cutler/retailer stamp “S. KIRKBY SHEFFIELD” (typical for Georgian fruit knives). The fitted case is later and serviceable with age wear; silver surfaces are bright with normal light scratches and crisp engraving (see macro photos of hallmarks and crest). A handsome, assembled Georgian fruit set with an earlier Coker spoon and late-18th-century Hougham fork/knife—ready to use or display.
