INFORMATION ON THIS AWESOME COIN: The
US Penny has undergone several changes over the years. Since 1909, the
obverse displays President Abraham Lincoln. The reverse had two
“wheat” heads (until 1958), the Lincoln memorial (until 2008), 4 special
designs commemorating a bicentennial since his birth (in 2009) and the
union shield (since 2010). Composition
has been Bronze - 95% copper 5% zinc/tin (1909-1942, 1946-1962), Zinc
plated steel (1943), Brass - 95% copper 5% zinc (1944-1946, 1962-1982).,
and in 1982 the standard changed to copper plated zinc (97.5% zinc 2.5%
copper)
- This BEAUTIFUL coin ring comes in a simple small plastic jewelry bag.
- NOTE: though the coin has a 25% nickel content, the band is nickel free.
- As
far as band SIZE is concerned, it is a STRETCHY ring. The pictures with
a finger is a 9.5. The ring fits comfortably on a ring mandrel starting
at about size 6 to about size 11. In my opinion, 7-10 is more ideal.
