One of the greatest challenges to modeling the Fokker Dr.I is the replication of the distinctive camouflage technique applied during manufacturing.

While some modelers have been successful in creating a convincing representation, for many it is a source of great frustration.

These decals have been developed to provide modelers with a method for creating an authentic and predictable result.

Through repeated test samples, we have achieved the most realistic color rendition and streaking patterns possible. The base color has been matched to samples of unbleached Belgian linen. Over this base the tonal olive-brown streaking pattern has been added to create a truly accurate representation. Interestingly, this printing method created areas which match the "earth grey" color often described in period accounts.

The sheet also contains elements to be used on the cockpit interior and underwing cross fields to create a unified look.

The sheet contains enough material to possibly cover two triplanes.

Finished models images are included in this listing to illustrate what can be achieved using these decals. Models are not included in the auction. Photos of models reproduced with permission from the builders.
