Katie
Blackmore (1890–1957) Scottish figurative and decorative artist who became an
associate of the RBA in 1922, a full member in 1925, and an associate of SWA in 1924. She exhibited
RBA, RA, RI, RHA, Ridley Art Club, Carfax Gallery (In 1913, an exhibition of
Drawings of Japanese Life), Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts and Walker
Art Gallery, Liverpool. Katie was associated with both Jessie Marion King and
Edward Atkinson Hornell, whose influence is clearly seen in her work.
I
have acquired a portfolio work, a number attributed to or signed by Katie
Blackmore, together with other works after Japanese woodcuts. The last image
detail part of the collection. This listing is for a single paper, as detail

Fine pencil and ink preliminary drawing on wove paper. Female figure with peacock detail to dress, unsigned.
In reasonable/used condition, with age toning, handling/creases, pencil smudges, staining, a
handful of foxing spots, tears to paper edges and other marks/blemishes. Paper would benefit from being professionally cleaned.
